Belle has always been my favorite Disney princess...aka the princess that shares my natural hair color. Isn't that how it works? When I was cast as Belle in my high school's production of Beauty and the Beast my fate was sealed. Belle would forever be my favorite. Needless to say I am beyond excited for the new Beauty and the Beast live action film coming out this Friday! I needed a refresher course on the original Disney Beauty and the Beast movie because I could only remember 95% of the dialogue word for word. I like to be at a solid 99% at any given time so I figured a family B and the B movie night was in order.
Planning up a snack menu and making a few small crafts to put this movie night together was this Beauty and the Beast lover's dream come true.
The second I discovered this printable for adorable paper Chip cups over on Brit and Co I knew I needed a few of them in my life.
I also decided last minute that I needed a rose, for obvious reasons. Packing up two small, wiggly children to go buy a rose sounded about as fun as shimmying into wet jeans so I decided to make one out of paper.
And now, the dining room proudly presents, your dinner. On the menu for the night was Hot Hors d'oeuvres, Baguettes, and the Grey Stuff. Oh the Grey Stuff, it's delicious.
I found the recipe for the Grey stuff topping here. I piped it on top of brownies that I baked in cupcake tins. I used a dark chocolate Ghiradhelli brownie mix because I'm fancy, but not THAT fancy.
I wasn't about to have a "Be Our Guest" night without some hot hors d'oeuvres. I found those recipes here and here. Yum. We had sliced baguettes ("Marie! The Baguettes! Hurry up!") to pair with the spinach artichoke dip. Also yum.
Such a fun night for my mini, but mostly for me. 3 more sleeps until the movie!!
